NEWARI WOODEN WINDOWS COLLECTION

The beautiful wooden carved windows can be seen in many temples and old houses in Kathmandu valley and Nepal in general. The carving art is dated back to the thirteen century and is a Newari handicraft. The wooden windows are finely detailed and feature decorative motives from the traditions and religions of the region and are taken from the Hindu and Buddhist pantheon. The windows shown here are made by wood carving artisans from Bakhtapur, that have past their knowledge and know how from generation to generation Click here
